新东方补充教材388题,我认为这个题目全错。


老师上课讲过,同样的一个代词在一个句子中只可以指代同一个对象。那么下面这个题目,不管你选哪一个,they都指代了两个不同的对象。


大家看,句子划线部分后面的那个them。它肯定是用来指代children的。因为句子的逻辑意思是,老人更有可能提供经济援助给他们的孩子,而不太可能从孩子那里获得援助。
那么再看划线部分,A,B,C,D,E五个选项都使用了“their children”的表达方式。那么这里又用their来指代老人了。
所以违反了一个句子里同一个代词只能指代一个对象的原则,都错!

(A) the elderly in the United States are four times more likely to give regular financial aid to their children as
(B) the elderly in the United States are four times as likely to give regular financial aid to their children as it is for them

ets有时也很蛮横的,你总不能在考场上因为这个而不选吧?


我记得og中有一题讲卖葡萄酒的,两个they, 一个指人,一个指酒,后半句还是个不带to的省略呢,见机行事。
