MM语法挺好的呀，问的题目很高级呀～
这个我以前也问过人，后来有两个答案
一个说so...so...that is also an idiom (perhaps)
另一个更可靠的说是独立主格（so persistent her lobbying for wage and hour reform）

但我刚才看了下，对独立主格的这个说法又有点怀疑了，因为 There being no taxis是独立主格，有个being在的，而E是完全省略了
