答案是A，想问下C为什么不对？结说it指代不清，可我觉得这里只能指Oxygen啊，请大家指教，谢谢！

use应该用被动，如果选C的话cigarette 是use 的主语，但是cigarette本身是不能发出use的动作的，只能用被动used

Look at the underlined sentence,  "thereby slowing the rate at which it burns and lowering the heat it generates." The logical referent of "it" should be "cigarette". The same pronoun should refer back to the same object in a sentence, but in C), the first "it" refers to "the amount of oxygen", violating such a rule. Therefore, C) is incorrect.

还有一点是C当中slowing修饰动作uses 主语是 a cigarette
但实际上slowing逻辑主语是 thin layers of extra paper 就像A选项
