[求助]请教PP语法题

各位好~~~小M今天作语法题遇到难题了，才疏学浅无以致用，还望各位牛人能相助~~~谢谢噜```[ ]里面是答案，下面这几题偶百思不得其解，还请会的牛人指点，感激不尽

98. 去掉who，“of the southwestern United States”直接修饰people，who多余了
128. by --> to, similar to 固定搭配，改成这样就容易认了：similar to cranes in body shape
140. such 后应该接名词，但其后的fired和challenged都是过去分词，所以我觉得应该去掉such，但这句话我也看不懂

76. which --> in which
103. despite不能接从句，似乎应该改成though
137. 改为independent，固定搭配：be independenet of  与...无关; 不依赖; 不取决于; 不受...限制[制约] (摘自金山词霸)
