H is better. The MS in Poly is really new, and I think this major is a "jilei" in Poly. As you know, the best program in business in Poly is MFE.

By the way, if you think day time MBA is better, you can transfer to Day MBA anytime.

想请问一下现在申请Hofstra 校内的住宿还来得及吗？
还有我没有能登入 myhofstra 的 username 跟 password
是要跟他们要吗？ 还是说要自己创建帐号？

我刚拿到 mba finance  day fulltime 的小奖 offer 2年给1.6w。。不知道 这个program 怎么样？都是中国印度人么？都没有工作经验 不知道 能否把这个program 学好。。再和hofstra的msf 比起来呢。。麻烦简单介绍下。谢谢

手上还有本来想去的 IIT MSF  也是小奖。。

我和你情况一样，IIT给了小奖3000，本来决定去IIT了，看了LZ的帖又有点小犹豫了。LZ 看看能不能给点意见，IIT的MSF  和 hofstra 的MSQF

MSF和MSQF差别不小啊，MSQF课程数学要求相对较高，然后专业比较小，和老师的关系比较近，经常有专门的活动或者会议以及实习工作机会介绍给MSQF学生。

总之，如果是IIT的MSF和H的MSQF的话，我毫不犹豫推荐QF。 如果都是MSF的话，去哪个都差不多。

I’m a MSF student of 2010 Fall, feeling a little bit confused about the career service in Zarb.



1.Are you seeing many companies coming to Hofstra campus (on-campus recrument), except for the job fair? If there are, what’s the companies’ names?
2.Ｉsee many activities, such as Networking with Alumni, Finding a Mentor & Professional Student Organizations, Zarb Career Management Program (C.M.P.-F.T.)，how do you feel about them, really helpful?

3.Are the resume writing and/or interview preparation service easily accessible?(你在帖子里提到有固定服务时间，其他时间可否预约服务？一般提前多少天预约)

4.There are 15 professors in Finance department(mentioned in the HU site), how many of them are responsible for grad program? I want to know the ratio of professors/students
5. When should the MSF students decided their own concentration in major?


I really appreciate Hofstra.And it would help me the best if you can tell me those answers. Thank you!

我很少用MSN的，你可以加2010新生群，或者是老Hofstra群，上面有很多同学可以帮你的。

我马上要毕业了。所以也不能帮到什么忙了。至于房源，可以在学校网站搜索off-campus，然后有一个专门属于学校的租房页面，按地区搜索即可，当然还有就是craiglist可以用用。

除了Job fair，难道公司会专门过来办公室要人吗？一般都是通过学校的Pride career management的网站系统来找实习或者工作的。 公司数量众多，有名的没名气的都有，有名的全是你听过的，双摩，四大，环球，华纳等等等等。

是否helpful取决于个人，个人认为参加了总有好处，但一下感觉不出什么质的帮助。

提前多久这个说不准，但是你可以随时上门或电话预约，一般不会让你等太久的，最多1周。

整个zard教授和学生的比例是1：16.  至于多少负责，几乎每个人都有研究生的课吧，MSF没有固定的advisor，如果对选课和职业发展有需要咨询，你可以预约系主任或者任何一个你觉得优秀的老师。
5. When should the MSF students decided their own concentration in major?
既然你已经很认真的浏览过金融系的网站，那MSF的网站相信你也浏览过，这种问题就不用问我了。 美国有多少MSF会分方向？ 你又不是phd。

不用客气，有的问题其实不需要回答，你自己来了以后慢慢体会自然有自己的感悟，回答了也不一定有很大的帮助。anyway，祝你在hofstra学习愉快！
