c中it指代可能有问题，到底是指代 a boat ,还是 hull？
b，d时态错
e a boat constructed to represent...意思错，这个船是制造用来代表一项重大技术进步的？这里有2个问题，1是意思不对，制造它不可能是为了代表技术进步，2是应该是hull而不是boat代表技术进步。

C.    together, and it represents   it指代不清
D.    together that was representing 过去进行时，时态有问题，没有理由要用过去进行时，错；that指代了a boat, 错，应该是那个wooden hull才对。
E.    together to represent  “to represent”表目的，扭曲意思了。

双破折号间的东西忽略不看，句子结构就很清晰了：
