personally, i think berkeley is optimal for those already having experience in financial industry, or you hold a phd degree and understand advanced modelling. nyu is still among top quant programs in us as long as they ensure placement. enlarging class size is not a bad thing but helps alumni networks strengthen. networking is very important for all financial workers. i think choosing which program is a personal matter and could not be advised by anybody on a public forum. i think if you did a lot of math previously and/or got experience in banks, maybe going to haas b-school is a good choice; but if you are not very quantitatively trained, maybe nyu is a smater choice as quant jobs require mathematical thinking as well as computing but limited finance knowledge. -- by 会员 怜音 (2010/4/14 23:51:08)
