个人意见哈。。。
1. D和E中间的in the northeastern United States好像容易产生误会，就是修饰对象的不明确（不太确定哈）
还有，like后面的主语是the grassy fields and old pastures 和后面的sandpipers’ vanishing 好像不形成对应的关系，A选项中的vanishing....是修饰主语sandpipper的，D和E把vanishing当作名词用了，所以D E排除
