master in management?

这个专业没有你想像的那么好,不需要工作经验,很多新人去,门槛不高,不要看到lbs就晕,他家就2个王牌,master in finance,只招3-5年以上国际大投行的工作经验的人,销路主要是s&t,am.再就是那个著名的MBA项目.

如果你中了lse那个fin&pe,建议你去lse,lse的校友力量异常强大,city里投行招人首选,比oxcam还优先.

Thanks for your advice! I know LBS's MiM is a very broad, general management program for students without work experience. I talked to a couple of professors and ibankers from Wallstreet.  They just love the "LBS" brand.  A professor from wharton suggested me to  get a specialized master, considering that i still wanna get a top mba in the states in a few years.  It doesn't make much sense to get in LBS for a general management master then get a MBA later on.  LSE's F&E, on the other hand, offers students much more in-depth knowledge in Finance. I would definitely choose LSE over LBS if i get in.

Any comments on HEC's MSc Management grande ecole? I am scheduled an interview next Friday in LA.. Doesn't seem too hard to get in...

1 hour interview.  Mine wasn't bad at all.  
The interview will take approximately 60 minutes and willbe mostly competency-based. You will be interviewed a member of the Masters inManagement Admissions Committee. We do not have any specific guidelines forpreparing for the interview as this will depend on the aspects of yourapplication and experience which the interviewer wishes to focus on. However, itis advisable to consider questions such as:

1)      Why do you want to do the Masters in Management at London Business School
and what do youhope to gain from the course?2)      What do you hope to gain from the course which you didnot gain from your previous studies? [Applicableto candidates who took a business-related course at undergraduate level]
3)      How does the Masters in Management fit into your widercareer plan and what do you hope to do upon graduating?
4)      Re-read your essay answers and consider whether thereare any areas which you could expand upon, as your interviewer may wish to talkto you about these.
5)      Consider wider issues within the business world,including how these may impact your career options, post-graduation.

thanks for your advice. My No.1 choice would be LSE, which is kinda bummed at the moment.  Got waitlisted for my No.1 preference.

Do you think it's wise to go for my 2nd preference at LSE, Accounting & Finance, instead of LBS's MiM? I do wanna learn more stuff about Finance. It's just so hard to choose between the brand name (LBS) & knowledge (LSE)

A friend studying at Chicago booth MBA complained to me yesterday on how difficult it was for Booth MBA students to build their network and connections with those EMBA students. They never had one class with those corporate executives.  I wonder if LBS's MiM is the same..

Oh well How do you like HEC Paris' MSc Management Grande Ecole? It does sound more attractive to me but i barely know any French.
What're the equivalent program that I should apply in North America? I know it's kinda late but it might worth giving a shot.
