我也是同样想问一下,该句子的主句似乎从逻辑上来说有点不妥, 当然OG肯定是对的, 所以肯定是我还没有掌握这个知识点.

坛子里有位G友说这叫无主句(无主语句?), 据说是有该相关语法点的;但我搜了很久, 之查到了汉语语法有这个语法, 而英语却没有查到该语法点; 我着实着急.

另外, 这个句子实际是有主语的, 就是the end; 我认为只是逻辑不对而已.

还请各位赐教...非常的困惑...

我也觉得主语是the end of the eighteen the century。see在这里是见证的意思。就像中文里我们常说的21世纪末见证了什么什么，这个很正常的说法。
