现在申Stanford R3还是等下半年申Stanford R1?

GMAT 740+4，原先报的1月16日托福考试，后转到2月27日。

欲申请Stanford R3，Stanford第三轮未果的话，下半年Reapplicant会有负面影响吗？还是干脆等下半年申Stanford R1呢？

请了解Stanford对Reapplicant态度的TX多给些意见，多谢！！！谢谢各位！！！

申请下半年吧。建议楼主先看看essay 1的题目，看看能不能写出来……估计essay 1这个时间可能有点悬

完全同意skyfaller，第一篇essay应该需要花个三四月来思考。当然lz可能已经写完了，那也还是R1机会大些吧，还没听说过有R3录取中国学生的。

Have to break the news here: the chance to get in via R3 is zipp, nada. Good job on pulling the excellent GMAT, though. But that alone won't be able to squeeze you in, considering the hard fact that S is the most selective gaff in the US, second only to H. Well, let's not forget about the ultimate insane essay "what matters the most to you," which can easily cost you well over one month to just prepare. Bear in mind, that is only 1 essay we are talking here.

On a side and more gossip-like note taken from BW (Ask-Sandy thread if you ask), H/S favor ppl who are young and raw (translation: young dudes or gals at 26-28). Unless you have domestrated super duper do-gooder stuff throughout your WE, essays, resumes, ex act, the chance remains dim here.

The bottom line is, come'n it's Stanford, the application deserves your utmost sincere and effort. So wait till the next cycle happening in just few months from now. Besides, you can always be an early bird starting to prepare that duper killer essay and think what really matters to you (not in general life but in the essay so to speak).

此外，担心已不是26-28的人了，申请下一年的，岂不是又老了一岁。。。更远离他们的偏好了。。。

1 more year on the age-scale won't change your odds at S but the almost 1 yr more of preparation will indeed improve the quality of your essays, profiles, and warchest (i.e. money). Besides, S is not the only elephant in the jungle, you know after all there are seven schools that make the M7. Great schools such as Chicago and others are more okay solely on the age issue. Hedge your bet and apply later in 2011 cycle.

如果你的背景不错的话，我建议你申。首先，你的年纪确实不小了，当然这个理由不够充分。
美国学校招收这么多年了，每一轮都会有一些名额安排的，当然R3不多，
在R3里，申的人，会少很多，因为许多人都有观念R3没什么希望而不申，包括北美的同学。但是也不意味着，你就没什么竞争对手，相反，你还得面对一些在R1或R2里被列为waitlist里的人。但在waitlist里的人肯定是S还有不满意的地方，才会没敢下决心一下子就要了，如果鸡肋，食之无味，弃之可惜（说得有点残酷）
所以，如果你的背景够强，在中国申请还是有希望，签证可能会来不及，但也不是绝对地来不及。如果你想申，对自已的背景，整个package的准备非常有信心，我觉得你应该申。

一切皆有可能，别人反馈的只是一个概率，行不行为只在于你自已。
