protecting引导的现在分词短语清楚地表达了items的目的，shields是protecting的形式主语，不矛盾啊
James Cook应作为naming的形式主语，但错误选项里面是作为介词by的宾语，而不是主句主语，mountain不能是naming的主语。
OG的解释是说，如果是subject of the clause，那么James Cook就work了。可惜不是。

没有人说伴随不是修饰主句的主语，现在讨论的是做定语的时候，你说现在分词不能做定语，有出处么？

我在想是不是shields和items实质上指的是同一个东西 所以楼上有G友认为 protecting做主语shields的目的 与og认为做items的目的其实是一样的
