如果依庖丁解牛所说,该题中有主谓宾,而比较的是主语,那么do应该补出, 而答案中无do, 难道原因就是两个谓语动词?

You got the point I guess Coz if there is a do, it may refer to the second verb gain or the both two verbs require and gain together, the diction making the sentence ambiguous and awkward.

 因为比较的是两个动词:require和gain,所以后面的一个do来指代谓语不合适,就省略了
