early decision becomes late decision

submitted columbia on oct 7th. changed to under review on oct 29th. nothing new ever since...

i have kept waiting for so long that i almost lost my patience. the rolling-basis early decision mechanism really sucks for late submitters like me.. being almost the first to submit and last to respond in my entire portfolio, what's the point for "EARLY DECISION" after all?  

strongly recommend future early decision applicants to submit EARLY, if you do not want to be binded with LATE decisions

same here. submitted in early october and no news since "under review"

worried that this is just the prelude of a "ding".

well can't blame anyone for it. i had all the time to prepare but squandered it. this wake-up call is a slap in the face which exposes my weaknesses.

I don't think anyone who submitted around 10/6 and 10/7 received a response (and many people indeed submitted around that time frame).  You guys are just making it too hard on yourself.  Give it another week!

Ideally it is probably better to submit in Aug/Sep for Columbia if you are at least 90% sure that you want to attend the school.  However you still want to submit when your application is in best shape!
