Should people be allowed to use mobile phones in public transportation? Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

Nowadays, cell phones are more and more important for people. We take them wherever we go and use them whenever we want. There is a controversial issue discussed by many people that if we should limit the use of cell phones in some public places especially the public transportation. Admittedly it is convenience to use the cell phone at anywhere you go and anytime you want. However, there are a lot of disadvantages to use cell phones in public transportations, and we should, in my view, limit the use of cell phones in these places.

 

The essential reason can be seen by everyone is that it is dangerous to use the cell phone while driving. Undeniably, it will distract the divers’ attention to the road if he/she uses the call phone while driving, which is a dangerous situation if there is an obstacle ahead. According to a survey from Chinese government, more than 30 percent of traffic accident is caused by drivers’ careless when they use the cell phone at the same time drive a car. Therefore, a lot of countries, such as America and England, enact the law forbidden the driver use the cell phone while driving.

 

Second, using the cell phone in public transportation may cause a lot of problems with some special machines and lead to bad consequences. For example, using the cell phone in the public transportation may cause the medical machines for the heart disease patients stop and the patients may die for this reason, and using the cell phone in the plane interfere the communication between the plane and airport and may cause air crash. All these disasters can be avoided if we forbid people use cell phones in public transportations.

 

In addition, peoples may feel unpleasant while other people around them using the cell phone in the public places. Imagine that someone shouted on the phone when you are concentrate your mind on enjoying the beautiful sceneries outside the bus, what an unpleasant experience you had at that time. According to a survey from Michigan University, about 60% people said it is a bad habit to using the cell phone in public places, and 40% people agreed to forbid using cell phones in public places.

 

For what we discussed above, although it is convenient to use cell phone anytime and anywhere we what, we should limit the use of cell phones in public transportations to make sure that we have a safe and pleasant travel.
