大家有没有留意浙大海归跳楼的事

看了mitbbs的几个帖子真心寒。总结一下：

清华本科，美国西北大学工程博士，两年的博士后，回浙大只给讲师（另有说法是师资博士后），一个月四千多人民币。

    
太太是芝加哥另一所大学的经济学博士，回国前已经找到faculty offer，虽然是teaching school。为家庭团聚放弃了offer回国。回国后浙大只给她博士后，她不满意，去北京工作，以致两人要分居。

据说他是因为工作待遇方面和家庭关系紧张，而自杀。

相信这件事后，想回国内高校的人会少很多

工作待遇方面和家庭关系紧张都不太可能是跳楼的主因吧。工作不爽凭他的条件可以继续回美国来啊，老婆如果真的对他不好也绝对不可能会随他回国，就算老婆一万个不好也可以离婚阿。我觉得还是抑郁症，得了这个病就算有家人照顾都很难好，更何况老婆孩子还不在身边。

My engineering friend also said that he did not want to go back China after he knew the benefits working at a Chinese university. Chinese universities do not appreciate engineering degrees in USA much. Luckily, business schools in China are different. Some senior professors realize that it is necessary to introduce Western graduates to upgrade the research quality in China. So now we can see many names of professors working in China appear in top tier business journals.

有些中青年老师都或多或少地透露，回国只是去养老而已，也就是学术上作不动没办法再上一层楼的时候。
国内经管类学院politics也不少，如果不是校友有人罩着回去还真不敢汤那混水。

现在美国商学院毕业的中国PHD少，回去的更少，还比较值钱。如果以后数量多了，或者回去的人多了就很难说。毕竟市场都是供求关系决定的

工程的发paper就像灌水，跟商学院完全两个概念，一个assistant prof都随便十几到几十篇paper。凭他的条件显然回美国也只能是继续postdoc，要不然浙大肯定会给他副教授的，你没有下家接着，浙大给你什么位置你不都得受着。

I do not think getting work published in engineering top tier journals is easy. Actually, all top tier journals are difficult getting paper accepted. It is also easy for business professors to publish ten rubbish journal papers.
