这题我其实也有疑惑，OG说The three descriptors of social wasps（cooperative, organized, and consisting almost entirely of females） are most effectively expressed in parallel structures.  可是B中这三者好像不平行啊？

这三个平行的意思是不是指他们都是用来修饰wasps的意思呢? 而且都是作为形容词来看的话是平行的呀

恩 赞同2楼的，应该是同位语。

prep语法笔记里面说：

同位语结构的形式:  (参考白勇语法)

1.  名词性同位语,          

  名词解释名词:  n. , n. ; n. , a/an + n.或  a/an + n. , n.

2. that引导同位语结构:

  抽象名词(evidence, result, principle等等) + that从句, that从句对抽象名词进行具体化解释

3.  概括性同位语结构:  

  用一个概括性的名词去概括前面的解释对象;  短语/句子, a program/ an advance/ a practice that…  

4.  名词重复性同位语结构:

     n. , n.(重复所修饰的名词) + that…   或  n. , the same n.(重复所修饰的名词) that

在b里面能清晰地看出来， cooperative, organized 和 consisting ..... 都是修饰social wasps的。这个应该算是形看似不平行，神色平行吧~

我的理解是：
1.cooperative, organized 和 consisting ..... 都是修饰social wasps的
2.看B选项：由于句式的原因（wasps做主语）导致最后一个动词consist不能正常的使用and连接（正常平行结构：A, B, and C），而需要用consisting做分词状语来修饰之前的society。因为consist的逻辑主语应是society(根据逻辑意思判断：不是wasps个体本身构成几乎全是女性，而因是社会性质导致)
3.再啰嗦一句：
 wasps个体本身构成几乎全是女性的意思=》wasps基本上繁殖出来的都是雌性
 社会性质导致的意思=》繁殖出来的有雌性、有雄性，但由于群体生存的需要，则导致组成一个wasps群体基本上只需要雌性
