我觉得可能是这样吧，不对请指正：


have gained respect--------------获得尊重---符合句子意思，语法好


have become respected------------respected什么词性 如果是形容词该用respectable,


如果是过去分词，那么语法应该为have beed respected


另外become这个词用的明显就没gain好，从意思上讲

since作副词时，没有时间点对照，所以这个since错。同时这个since多余。

两个判断:

1:我感觉是这个respect是在last twenty years里建立起来的.

而become是瞬间的感觉,不能表达在20年里gain respect的过程.

2:gain和become的意义上感觉不一样,gain是主观的去取得,become是客观的就会达到,

so "gain" delivers the right meaning.
