我选的是D ，为什么就不对啊？？

查了资料说more than 是副词，在这个题里怎么用的？我怎么理解不上去呢？？

double这里是动词。。。句子可以简写为

the number... （more than） doubled...  数。。。翻番了。。。

这样理解可以吧
