答案：B。我对B选项的正确性是没有问题的。我想问的是，B选项最后as后面的they are这里是不是不可以省略？如果不可以省略，是否是因为前面是were，而后面的则是they "are"呢？另外，我对于这类比较结构中比较的后半部分什么时候可以省略谓语动词什么时候不可以省略存在问题。觉得挺迷茫的。。。请nn多多指教！

按照楼主mm的意思，说成A was disturbing to his own time as compelling for ours. 读起来很怪，如果是同一个形容词，应该可以省略相同部分
