很快就考试了，Verbal占了偶很多复习时间，只有几天时间复习作文了，希望能够尽可能适应AWA的套路吧，请各位NN多多指点，谢谢！！

题目：“It is unrealistic to expect individual nations to make, independently, the sacrifices necessary to conserve energy. International leadership and worldwide cooperation are essential if we expect to protect the world’s energy resources for future generations.”

我的文章：

The author of the argument asserts that rather than efforts or sacrifices made by an individual nation, global efforts are need to conserve energy. In my opinion, although sometimes an individual, like a nation or a person, will sacrifice himself/herself voluntarily for other’s benefits, we cannot expect everyone to be the volunteer in helping conserve energy of the earth. Therefore, global efforts and cooperation are needed in conserving energy of the world today based on the following reasons.

 

First, the globalization is the main stream in developing trend worldwide; countries are more and more dependent to each other. In order to reduce manufacturing cost, many western companies outsource their production business to China and other Asian countries and regions, as well as service processes such as call center business to India. Despite the lowering of the cost caused by these business strategies, more dependence to these countries was caused as well. For example, the United States imports crude oil from the Middle-East, extracts base of plastic from the oil, exports the base to China to produce toys, then imports the finished toys and sells them in the market of the United States. If problem occurs in any sector of the business line, the whole business would fail. Therefore, back to energy conserving field, it is also unrealistic to conserve energy and other natural resource by efforts of individual nation, since it is the world that tightly connects every country on the planet.

 

Second, due to some historical reasons, those countries where the source or energy was produced are relatively poor when compared to those countries where the source or energy was consumed. People or companies in poor countries tend to raise the price of energy unreasonably, which will seriously hurt the economy worldwide. The two Oil Crisis in 1970’s was the result of the unreasonably rise of the oil prices. As the result of the Oil Crisis, that oil cannot be sold from the oil-producing nations to the oil-consuming countries seriously stunted the development of both the oil-producing countries and the oil-consuming countries. To prevent the disaster such as Oil Crisis happens again, global negotiation system is needed for both oil-producing countries and oil-consuming countries. The termly negotiation between OPEC and Developed Countries in nowadays is a trial to prevent either energy wasting or energy insufficiency economically.

 

In conclusion, the energy and natural resource are held by all human being on earth, that it is everybody’s responsibility to conserve. Especially in nowadays, the trend of globalization requires global efforts and leadership in conserving energy.
