说说争议点：

A:       it指代：是improved efficiency还是converting harvested trees into wood products(个人倾向前者，应该是优先指代从句的主语， 再是从属成分吧

          boosting前的thereby说明是伴随结果

B:      which的指代明显有歧义（是increasing supply and lowering prices,  还是lowering prices）

个人觉得A很完美， 但答案给的B.  看了讨论贴支持哪个的都有

个人发表一点愚见：

A比B表达上好的原因

A句里

1、用it直接指代前句的improved efficiency in...，清晰明了

2、by increasing supply and lowering prices指的是方法，即增加供应和降低价格两种方法

3、thereby boosting，这是表结果，即用上面两种方法从而达到推进消费，再回到后段句首，以达到刺激需求的目的

B句里

1、将demand作为主语，感觉重心不对，此句重点是在讨论improved efficiency in...的利弊

2、because of表示的是原因，但是个人更偏向于A里用by（表示方法）。因为增加供应和降低价格，所以需求一定增加么？未必。

3、which在这里是引导的非限定性定语从句，个人理解定语从句主要用于补充解释它所修饰的内容，但是在这里boost更有一种因前者的关系所以后者的意味在里面。用定语从句似乎并不十分恰当。

4、最后就是GMAT考试里最优选择定律，用主动能表达清楚的，为何要用被动呢？

因为是although xx..., it...结构, 所以it优先指代although...的主语. boosting的逻辑主语是it will stimulate demand by increasing supply and lowering prices, "improved efficiency刺激了demand, 因此刺激了消费", 逻辑非常清晰.

B.       in converting harvested trees into wood products may reduce harvest
        rates, demand will be stimulated because of increasing supply and
        lowering prices, which boost

这个选项有3个问题.
1. 主动优于被动, demand will be stimulated...没必要
2. 原句"improved efficiency刺激demand通过increasing xx and lowering xx", 其中并没有因果关系, 所以B的because of是错的, 同时也无法表现出stimulate的动作发出者和eff和increasing... and lowering... 的关系
3. which无法指代"it will stimulate demand by increasing supply and lowering prices"

毫无疑问, 这题选A.

我也觉得选A，楼上的讲得很好。另外A选项的句子很清晰，让步+递进.B选项动了大手术改成强调原因，取消递进。demand/price/population/economy will be stimulated/boosted/spurred之类的被动用法在改错题里就没见过是对的，我一般看着这样用就排除，除非每项都有错才回头来看。

 A更好些，我见过OG中类似的用法，就是句子主动用法更明确，it的指代也没有问题。
