二、代词

ACT再GMAT中频繁使用代词，主要有两种错误形式

    （1）用错误的代词替换名词；

    （2）代词指代不明

（一）用错误的代词指代名词

    这种错误主要体现在用单数代词指代复数名次，or vice versa。比如：

    Jim obviously loves his two hounds, Rose and Shasta, but they do not walk the dogs as often as veterinarian recommends.

这句话中，划线部分的代词they，只能指代two hounds，但是根据上下文，我们发现只有Jim才能walks the dogs,所以不应该是they,而是he.

（二）代词指代不明

    这种错误主要体现在两种情况中：

（1）指代不明

    比如：According to Albert, Amy and Philip both wanted to take Ben shopping for hats, but he didn't know which one of them to choose.

这句话中有两个代词，所以也就产生了两个问题。he到底是指Albert还是Ben，them 是指Amy and Philip还是hats？正确答案应该是：

    According to Albert, Amy and Philip both wanted to take Ben shopping for hats, but Ben didn't know which one of the hats to choose.

  (2)代词没有指代物

    比如：Although Wellington feared a French naval invasion, he was confident that the coastal defenses could handle anything they could throw at them.

这里的问题出现在they上，虽然乍读起来，they可能指代French Navy， 但文中没有任何French navy, frech ships, the French或其它复数名词。所以they也就没有任何只带对象。
