你是怎么知道自己适合做学术的？

学术一开始是拼智力，但后来也是拼体力和耐心了，到了那程度，除了少数genius就看时间多少了

by the way, how do you define intelligence in business research? I guess even for intelligence it varies.

I don't have real experience in business research. But for intelligence, till now i have not heard of any well-recognized scientific classification for intelligence. but i guess intelligencs includes  logical-mathematical, verbal-linguistic , visual-spatial, and so on.

i am quite sure that i am not strong in visual-spatial.i might be good in logical-mathematical and verbal-linguistic, but i dare not say that i am outstanding(not to be modest, but a matter of fact)

i guess the requirement for intelligence also varies depending on the type of research. i heard terms like formal method which includes using plain logic only to solve problems, but as business research goes increasingly scientific, sophisticated mathematical modelling will be more popular.

what's your view though?

哈哈你真的很学术，形式逻辑什么的都搞出来了。我觉得我数理逻辑比较差，赶紧趁早滚到了acc，不敢继续在fin混了。

呵呵，这贴让我想起了一年前和LZ一样的迷茫和困惑，不过那时我在想了很久想不清楚后就找了个给我印象不错的老师那诉苦去了，呵呵，然后就跟着他开始看Paper，收集数据，写Paper，5个月后写出一篇英文Paper，然后就知道自己喜欢上Research了，就这么决定未来读PhD去了。但我基础不够扎实，于是先读个Mphil，两年后再申PhD。

LZ也可以试着尝试下，看看Paper，跟着老师跑跑腿等，呵呵。
