independent run for the presidency 应该是“独立竞选总统职位”的意思，和independent candidacy是相同的含义，强调的是候选地位或候选资格

而candidate是候选人，强调的是人。肯定是不能和independent run for the presidency并列的。

我一开始也做错了，选了D，感觉D并不是很对，后来看答案才发现原来E里是candidacy，恍然大悟。。。

是啊，所以考试的时候一定得仔细看题才行啊。。

D从后面的G and J是前面的同位语也可以看出，仍然是指人而不是run。GMAC真是太阴险了！

这也太阴了...看了半天,我一直在看H. Ross Perot没看见后面的's independent run.....晕....

所以一直在ABC里排还......
