求教MIT or NYU with Scholarship?

謝謝大家的意見, 獎學金是merit based, 不是日本人的, 但是只有第一年. 想要繼續留在金融業( 1yr in consumer product, 3 yrs in banking)  

MIT是非常有名的学校。但是想做金融NYU肯定不会让你失望，而且有奖学金。到时候你就会明白为什么在纽约会如此重要。招聘会可能那些公司大多数名校都会去，但是招聘会之外，校友参与各种学校的活动，在纽约当然方便的多。学校club可以很方便的邀请到金融街的校友。平时晚上上课碰到很多part-time学生也有不少在华尔街混的不错的，几千个part-time学生，对于networking无疑是极大的优势。但是金融业也很广泛，具体做什么也有不同讲究。MIT和NYU的强项各不相同。

其实我觉得MIT和NYU的答疑贴都已经很详尽了，如果你能说出喜欢MIT的5点，喜欢NYU的5点，你自己怎么想，如何取舍，再请大家帮你分析你的思路，这样会比较有帮助。

建议MIT

做金融， MIT也不差，boston金融机构不少，去纽约也近，加上现在的金融环境，2年后还不可知。

If you are set to do finance in the US, Stern probably will give you a leg up. The vibrant community, top notch faculty members and proximity to finance community is invaluable in this economic environment. Maybe you have noticed that recently many senior bankers/managers from Merrill/BOA "retired" to teach at Stern. It could just be office politics post the merger that they left, but these are power players on Wall Street and when market turns around, they may be eager to go back or start their own shop. That would help you a lot if you can establish some rapport with them.

On the other hand, as most other Asians would say, if you want to work in Asia right after graduation, MIT can be better, simply because of reputation. MIT is a fantastic school for both consulting and finance, but more so for consulting and quant-oriented finance. Students there are perceived as more problem solvers than deal makers. So you may want to think about what personality you are and what specific work you want to do.

Over the long run however, it does not matter that much. You may feel good about your family or others gasping at the MIT name, but at the end of day, in the world of finance, whether you are successful or not depends on how much revenue you can generate and how good your people skills are.

波士顿金融公司奇多，密集在North-South Station那一块儿；而且即便是纽约公司招人，MIT也是重点对象之一。

再有，如果真对大苹果情有独钟，毕业直接过去即可。连我等boston local school学生都海量的进军纽约，MIT更不是问题了。
