答案是E，自由不明白这个题到底考什么知识点，而且对因为什么对，每个选项错在哪里了？痛苦！！！

答案是E，自由不明白这个题到底考什么知识点，而且对因为什么对，每个选项错在哪里了？痛苦！！！

C错在主句从句的时态的不一致问题上；D错在where had formed的时间逻辑混乱；可是A和B错在哪里啊！！！实在看不出来错在那里！！！

(A) 和(B) 都有动作一直不断的意味. OG里面有类似的说法. (OG-102, B)        


(E)用formed有动作完成的意味.

A: where使用错误。visit是一个及物动词。应该用（that/which）。


had visited时态错误，visit这个动作并没有发生在journey之前。整句话基本时态为一般过去时。


B:were forming错，没有理由用进行时。


the princely states visited：表达意思不清晰


C: to form; have visited使用错误


D:     had formed; where; had visited使用错误。

补充：


A： forming 修饰journals 时会与前面的sketching and keeping 混淆；并且动名词修饰名语有连续不断，数次的意味，如vincent语；


B：掉了实义动词visit，而这一词却很重要，故此可以判死刑！

自由别客气。


这里的visit是vt.因为这里有宾语，the princely states 。


时态的问题最好不要下定论。


不过在整个19世纪，journals 都正在形成 news reports 的基础，就相当有问题了。。。
