Essay 89     最想见的名人


If I had the chance to meet a famous person in the history, I would like to meet Mr. Yiren Rong,     who was a very successful business person and also the vice president of China. He made a lot of contributions to the social development of China and thus enjoy respect from the Chinese People.


First of all, Mr. Rong had a very impressive business career and a legendary experience. His story makes everyone feel that he is talented in business and investment. At the beginning of 1980’s he set up China Investment and Trust International Corporation(CITIC), which was engaged in services from trading to banking. The company adopted advanced management expertise and became one of the most dynamic firms in China. Mr. Rong played a vital role in the progress of CITIC and made great efforts to help CITC establish itself in the international business area. Thanks to his efforts, CITIC has become a very large international business firm.


Second of all, Mr. Rong was also the vice president of China and was actively invloved the political affairs regarding business. He proposed several laws on the fast economic and business development of China and made a lot of very constructive decisions on the regulation of financial market and China’s economic reforms. All those decisions promotes the improvement of China’s business and most of them are still being implemented today.


Third of all, Mr. Rong also personally made a lot of contributions to the social development, specifically the charity work. Given his affluence, he frequently donated money and assets to various organizations such as Children’s fund or the Association of the Disabled and his annual donation was amounted to more that 1 million US dollars. This financial resources significantly assisted the work of those non-profit organizations and a lot of people such as students from poor regions benefit from the donation. As a result, millions of people feel grateful to his help.


As Mr. Rong was a great man in business, politics and social development, he is definitely an individual worth respecting. Although he passed away, I still remember him and wish to see and have a talk with him. I am proud that China has such an excellent figure and he is my model for my life.
