darcie, 这个太夸张了吧？ 从uiuc到芝加哥至少要开两个小时吧。
他是不是不用在学校校区出现的，远程工作就可以了。

据说UIUC是比较荒凉一点～～phd生活肯定不像本科生活那么轻松，从多姿多彩的香港到乡下地方肯定有落差，但如果真是为了做研究，那个学校不错的。

但是其实我申请的时候没太仔细考虑过，所以想问问大家，这个学校的finance是什么level的？

还有就是，我其实挺CONCERN finance phd的lifestyle的。虽然自己对research挺有兴趣，但想想我一个刚本科毕业的女孩子要在一个地方（还是一个大农村！！）待五年，一成不变的，有点心慌啊。实在很纠结，想不好到底要不要去读。大家给点意见？

UIUC is a nice place.  Try to balance your time between study and finding you love during your PhD tenure.  Life should be beautiful.  Bless.

why some people don't care about and not sure they want to pursue Ph.D, but they can make it.

Others may desperately seek a postion to fill in, but they end up with nothing.
