Prep-2-9
C,D,E的错误都很明显。看 Ronpurewal 对于 A和B的解释。

it appears that you're missing an answer choice.  moreover, as all of these choices have noticeable faults, it appears that you may well be missing the
    correct answer choice.

"chance ... of VERBing" is the correct idiom for discussing probability.  ("chance to VERB" is a correct idiom too, but not in this case; that idiom is used when discussing opportunities, as
in "i had the chance to do it").  that leaves (b), but (b), as written, is clearly wrong because of the repetition of "chance"/"chances".

以下是引用AlienX在2009-3-26 0:32:00的发言:
我*覺得*C只是sounds bad(因為at as), grammatically 沒有錯.
let's check out an example:
P1-9: The Environmental Protection Agency frequently puts mandatory controls on toxic substances that present as little risk as one chance in a million of causing cancer.

P1-9可以寫成:
The Environmental Protection Agency frequently puts mandatory controls on toxic substances that present risk as little as one chance in a million of causing cancer.

Ron的意思是, 如果
- chance表機率, 用chance of doing something不用chance to do something
- chance表機會, 用chance to do something不用chance of doing something

Ron是GMAT滿分的ManhattanGMAT的老師...

有一个问题:此题是说C因为AT后面没有宾语所以错

但是prep08的语法笔记里接着举例了
prep 2-9 The Environmental Protection Agency frequently puts mandatory controls on toxic substances that present as little risk as one in a million chances to cause cancer.
(A) as little risk as one in a million chances to cause
(B) as little risk as one chance in a million of causing
(C) as little risk as one chance in a million that it will cause
(D) a risk as little as one chance in a million for causing
(E) a risk as little as one chance in a million for it to cause
Key: B

这题ABC不是也使得present后面没有宾语么?为什么又对呢??
