E不符合cause的惯用法，cause sb/sth to do sth。不确定cause + sth + adj，但从牛津字典的用法解释来看，cause只能接不定式做宾补。不过E用不到这一点，cause + sth + adv肯定错。

个人理解: making flames spreading好象可行.(不知道有没有make sth doing的用法?)

不过即使有这种用法,跟前面的making ignition不对称. 请体会一下: making ignition 与making flames spreading. 前者没有指出对象, 后者指明是flames.这两者并列感觉怪怪的.

但E选项不懂. casue不能接动名词吗? cause + sth是可行的.

如果cause + doing也可行, cause+ doing+adv是不是也可行呢?

不懂...
