呵呵，现在有些小收获，想的好累@@。有两题可以解释了，但还有一道不行。

According to US Air Force officials, a cannon shooting dead chickens at
airplanes has proved helpful to demonstrate what kind of damage can
result when jets fly into a flock of large birds.
A. shooting dead chickens at airplanes has proved helpful to demonstrate
B. shooting dead chickens at airplanes has proved itself helpful as a demonstration of

D. that shoots dead chickens at airplanes proves itself helpful to demonstrate
E. that shoots dead chickens at airplanes has proved helpful in demonstrating
首先，没有prove as...这种结构，unidiomatic,其次

这道题，我的语感还有以前做题的经验告诉我一定选E,但说不出为什么不选A，helpful to do结构太熟悉了

我现在明白了。

helpful to do 在使用的时候被看成必须被看成的后置主语。It is helpful to do sth. 形式主语it和实际主语to do不定式结构。不倒装的形式是To do sth is helpful.

但在这个题目里shooting dead chickens和to demonstrate并不是同一个主语的关系。除了代词意外没有词可以代替to do作主语。

当然也存在这样的结构，sth is helpful to do.但是这里的sth被看成实际的to do结构的直接宾语提前。正常语序是To do sth is helpful. 但是在这里shooting dead chickens也不可能不看成是to do的宾语。

所以只要出现helpful to do/useful to do/wise to do 等结构，主语不是it的全部算错。

所以,

A是不对的。

终于明白了helpful to do为啥读起来就那么顺 haha 看来做语法不能靠语感呀！
查到prove的用法 贴一下咯 prove直接加adj.看来是一种省略哦！
1、prove＋n.(作宾语)，意“证明某事”，如：
The scientist finally proved the fact.那位科学家最终证实了那个事实。
2、prove＋that宾语从句
The fact proved that his statement was true. 事实证明他的说法是正确的。
3、prove＋宾语＋(to be)…(作宾补)
He proved himself (to be) honest.他证明自己诚实。
另外，prove还可作系动词，后接(to be)＋名词/形容词，构成系表结构，意“结果是…，证明是”，没有被动语态。
The book proved (to be) interesting.

The lawyer for the defense charged that she suspected the police of having illegally taped her confidential conversations with her client and then used the information obtained to find evidence supporting their murder charges.
D. of using the information they had obtained to find evidence that would support
因为used之前有个and then 我就觉得used应该和taped并列呀。。。
虽然和having也讲的通，但是后面那个不是illegally的么～
还有个区别就在于evidence supporting their charges和evidence that would support their charges.
有evidence supporting their charges 这种修饰方法么 省略that is

不想写长了，简单说，这里的used不可能做独立谓语(没有that)，只可能和of using平行。such as 错误。D

这道题这样解释清楚很多，一直不是特别清楚为什么说it is helpful to do 不好，现在终于明白了。
