急问: 遇到这种情况怎么应对?

申请RICE MBA的第2轮, 1月初 phone interview, 1月30号是decision date, 但我至今没收到任何消息, 写email催了多次也没人回复, 自己估计是凶多吉少了... 可今天收到以下一封email实在是让我犯晕......

My name is xxx and I recently graduated from Rice MBA program.  I understand you are interested in our program.  I'd like to talk to you to see if there is anything I can help such as answering questions about the program or about Houston.  ls confirm your phone number and I will give you a call.

按说学校的decision应该已经做了,而且坛里申友也有的已经拿到该轮的offer, 为什么我的情况怎么这么奇怪啊.............

Better to ask the school if this is a formal interview first. Sounds to me it's not. More like an alumi to answer questions.

Thanks, Valarie... I was phone interviewed by Rice early Jan.

And according to their admission schedule, the R2 decisions were already sent out. Why this alumi want to call me and offer such help after that??

did you expresse your interest in furthur understanding of the school and the interviewer promise to recommend someone to help you? If so, they may have respond too late.

No...that's why I am confused. Haven't received any email or mail from Rice after interview anyway, I replied the email and hope can get some hints from that guy

from what I feel and my personal experience, you might be admitted by this school or the school just want to make sure whether you are really interested in their program. Just keep frequent contact with them. I gather the offer will be coming soon.

Thanks, Chengfang..... I do want an offer as already got two waitlist....

Just finishing the phone call with that Rice alumi. He had no idea with the admission decision, and told me "Admission office asked him to call". And he also mentioned he did a similar talk with another applicant in Beijing yesterday". So we spend 50minutes discussing MBA program and Huston.....  

Anyway,  he agreed to help me push Admission office for detail application status. God bless me.. hope can get something rather than rejection or waitlist....

Receiving email from Rice, I is accepted to the program. And all the delay is due to FedEx delay my offer package as Rice made mistakes on my home address. Anyway, I will receive it this afternoon.
