so boring to put the following useless information of the pitt boy
Program: Finance
Age: 20
Sex: Male
Nationality: US citizen
GMAT: 730, 96% - 47Q (81%), 44V (97%), 5.5 AWA.
What I'd give to have those percentages reversed...
Undergrad: 3.65 from a top ranked regional LAC. Majored in Business (concentration in finc.) and minored in applied math (Cal I-III, Diff. Eq., Cal based Stat, 2 OR classes)
I'm attending on a full scholarship (academic) and have won various honors (Deans List, Beta Gamma Sigma) and have held several leadership positions
I've also engaged in some minor research projects (no publications) in IPOs and energy markets
Grad: none, I really hope I get into a decent program without a masters, if not, then I'm looking at both Economics at UConn and Statistics or MQF at Ga Tech
Work experience (as unimportant as it is): a whole 5 months interning at a regional investment bank that closed immediately upon the completion of my internship (woooo!!!)
Teaching experience: none, though there is a possibility I'll lead a seminar class on taking the GMAT (it's been a while since anyone from my B-School pulled a 730)
Research experience: A few term papers, I'm busting my tail trying to squeeze one into a local journal.
LOR: I've got a few prof's kicking out letters and I'll just hope for a winning combination
1 from the department chair... in history... to speak on research potential and writing ability
1 from assoc. prof in finance, director of MBA program, and my academic advisor, it'll be good
1 from full prof in math (PhD UIllinois)
1 from assoc prof in finance w/industry experience
1 from career services director speaking to my maturity (maybe a concern due to age) and research potential
Research interests: IPOs, private equity, M & A, mutual funds, and blue chip equities
Schools in consideration: My top 3 are Pitt, Indiana, and Purdue. I'm also taking a shot at Ohio State. Outside of that I'm looking at Arizona State, UGA, Ga Tech, So. Carolina, Florida, and Mich. St.
