也不是很決定是E還是A

根据句意,不是所有食物都会让病情加重,所以决定病情加重的是"病人吃了什么",而不是"病人吃的食物";用WHAT更能强调并和WHEN平行.

再者,A选项里WHEN后面的THE PATIENT完全可以用THEY来指代.
