看了楼主列举的student profile之后...感觉没戏了，不过还是请楼主帮忙评估一下我的背景，佐证一下我申请LSE的MsF是不是waste of time and money

Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from The University of Hong Kong, First Class.
GMAT 740/5.5 TOEFL 104
w/e (awful...): 1 month in HSBC, personal financial service division; 3 months in Bank of China, commercial banking division; 2 months in UFIDA (ERP software developer in China), ERP model developing; 1 year in a local insurance broker company in China, responsible for risk analysis (not so quantative) of enternprise and projects, and insurance proposal design.

lz你好，我毕业于国内top20的一所偏工科学校；想转专业申请经济金融，未曾辅修经济。

成绩刚刚过85， 问题在于大四平均分只有76多，把我的总分拉了下来；而优势就是数学课（随机，概率，数学分析，复变函数等）得分均在90以上，有几门是满分。

请问这样申请LSE需要从哪几个方面增强竞争力以确保录取呢？我预定两年后申请它家经济金融类项目。目前在一家不是很知名的小金融企业攒经验，因此还有一些时间来提高我的竞争力。

   

题外话，我是波普尔和哈耶克的粉丝，因此对LSE十分向往啊；另外据我搜集的消息这个项目貌似很累很累很累，百忙之中抽空回答问题真是不容易。lz大好人一个啊，祝福，呵呵：）

lse master in econs is only taking econs first class
msc risk management and a&f are less competitive.
good English and a bigger name in your CV will help

请问这样申请MFE希望大吗？还有GMAT的AWA是不是太低了？

mfe does not need much w/e
but you need to show them that you are smart enough to handle the course, in whatever ways

msf 不需要读过金融的人。有金融背景的，基本拿不到offer

弱问一下LZ
想同时申LSE的Accounting and Finance 以及Finance and Economics两个项目

但这两个项目方向完全不同……

浏览一下学校要求，仿佛申请的时候只写一篇PS，如果要申请两个项目，需要在PS中说明你为什么要申这两个，是这样的么？

是不是申LSE只接受GMAT? 偶这一个假期都栽到GRE上面去了.. 因为偶一直以为是GRE OR GMAT.. BOTH ARE OK....

另外.. 偶也想问问CAM 的 MPHIL FINANCE... 很少有它家的消息~~ 网站也很简陋.. ZBB大牛牛是不是就是这个项目出来的呢? 是的话麻烦介绍下吧~~ 感激不尽啊!!!

Well, I just spent 2 hours reading all the posts here.
Got some questions as well. Wish someone could help me out! If LZ is
still available to give me some suggestions.
I would love to apply for MSF in LSE for 2010.
My background:
Major: English (International Business oriented), Nanjing Univerisity
GPA: 88/100 (84.4 in first year, 87.2 in second year, and 91 in third year)
GMAT: Q51V41,760
IELTS: 7.5
Exchange Experience：(Sep.22.2009~Feb.8.2010)
School of English literature, Language, and Linguistics, Sheffield University, UK--GPA 2.1
Working Experience(==): China Radio International (Beijing) for 1 month
I
dont really have much experience with Finance. Not sure if it really
matters. Would the experience working in a well-known bank or some
financial system really so important? Now I am just wondering how much
opportunity there is for me to get admitted by this program. Should I
try my luck with LSE? Is it really that defficult to be admitted?

总结下
1.时间不充裕，能来的次数有限，所以，能自己在帖子找到答案最好。
2.没金融背景的适合报msf,但是读起来辛苦。自己学点cfa什么会有帮助，也会增加竞争力。mfe依旧是学术派，适合有读phd想法的人。
3.目前job market好了些，今年比去年好找工作，但是依旧不容乐观。建议往asia 走，伦敦不好找
4. msf 2010扩招，80+。因为去年报的人已经超过2000了，今年估计直奔2500
