What do you think?

Hey guys, I just got the offer from NYU part-time program. I am an analyst in a top IB firm M&A group in new york. If I dont go for the part-time MBA now, more than 90% I could get offer from HBS or Stanford 2 years later. I will be back to China to launch my career in the long term. I am 23.

Do you think I should accept the offer now?

I am amazed by the level of your confidence.

"more than 90% I could get offer from HBS or Stanford 2 years later", pretty impressive.

To me,I will just target the top ones like HBS or Stanford if I am pretty sure I can achieve that level.Plus, another two years of work experience could add more value to you when you start your own business later.

So I would say no to this offer. Just my 2 cents.=)

记得以前在坛子里有个哥们说商学院分2种:HBS和其它。所以答案很明显了

im just not sure whether its worth to taking two years off to do a full-time MBA? i value street knowledge much than the book knowledge.

As to the networking, i think i can enlarge my networking even while workikng rather than going to b-school. For me, b-school is just a degree that someone may need me to have.

What say you?

I might not be in the position to say this considering i don't have an mba, but if you think it's just a degree someone may need you to have, don't invest time and money in it, not even the part-time one (you are unlikely to maximize the benefit from the experience anyway). There are plenty of successful figures in business who never went to bschool, and loads of mediocre people / even losers despite the fancy bschool names they have on their resumes. The point is how much you yourself value it, not how others might perceive this degree, same rule applies to I guess generally anything one decides to spend time on...my 2cents
