其实博士也没有那么苦的。。。我很想申，很想读，就是觉得自己目前还没有那个实力，所以只申请了3所，主力还是申请master>

商学院的学生作学术已经算是比较轻松的了，我们不用每天做实验、编程序，反而我们有机会接触各样的企业、案例，我喜欢的是通过研究如何更好地将理论运用到实践中去。。。

或许太天真也太理想化，不过我觉得这就是一种动力。时常在想自己是不是那种能够埋头苦学的人，但是每一次思考过后我都发现，只要自己深爱hr这个领域，怎样都行

except  a few the best (and highly "technical") schools such as Stanford and MIT,

Ph.D pograms in most business schools simply are JOKE in doing "academic research"...

- one evidence most Finance professors have Ph.D in economics (and/or finance from those

  few top schools)...

Most Finance Ph.Ds are NOT qualified for a university faculty job (but for some investment bank

to do so-called quantitative research or modeling jobs - unfortunately, with current financial crisis

and wall street meltdown, this kinda job market will be very tough in the coming years...)..

I don't think ur evidence support ur argument. finance is just one of the big branch in econ. It is nature for econ phd to do finance research.

I think u asked people who in MIT or Stanford or some big schools, for sure they will say other people do some joking  research. "Wen Ren Xiang Qing"  is always ture.

 please be responsible to ur word.

 why do u think they are not qualified? What is your benchmark and how do u measure them? just because they don't spend ten years in post doc degree? 

That is the trade off. Bio or some basic major like math, phsic people was easily admitted in good schools, then the several years spend to get an academic job is necessary. Finance phd's competition is much more fierce than others,implying their qualification is better and they are serious to research, not like many people who quit their phd after 2 years in their program. then the good job opportunity waiting for them after graduate is a must. otherwise who will be such stupid to compete for this no future major?

last, only in the case finance phd could not find a job in acdamia, their advisor will let them seek for jobs in industry.although now the opportunity in industry is not that good,but it for sure will come back in several years.

楼主不要认为二十岁的大好青春，在实务界的生活就是风生水起，一帆风顺的，你19年的经历中大多是平坦的读书生活吧？

把读博士，做研究看作一种工作就好，虽然这种工作占用了大量的休息时间，需要花费大量的脑力，还可能没有多大成就感。但是想想，实务界做的事情就那么有意思，有意义吗，也未必吧。
