Dear Keyan, i think it is really a hard decision. in the States, the WU is much more famous than umd (the harvard in middle-west). however, the tuition is cheap in umd. if money is not a big concern, you may need to do a thoroughful research to find out which one fits you well. i also applied both in 2nd round and am preparing my telephone interview now for umd, can you kindly share us some interview experience with us. many thanks!

I also got the interview invitation. I cannot visit campus, so want to schedule a phone interview. Can you tell me how to schedule a phone interview? From the interview scheduling system, there is no option of "telephone interview".

On job market after 2 years you will be competing with students graduated from schools less famous than yours in a promising land considering that the State of W. develops pretty fast in many industry area.   on the side of Maryland, plenty of offers come from non-profit or government ognizations for international students  if you are not well prepared to fight those tough competitors from Harward/MIT/ etc..  Furthermore, cities near the D.C are full of blacks and are famous for their high criminal levels since government allowance and subsidy make it easy for poor, mostly blacks, to make a live there.

Personal understanding just for reference.

They were all general questions. I could not remember exact questions they were, they were something like why MBA, why UMD, which schools else you applied for, etc. There was no weird question. Good luck!

While you can't go wrong with both choices, I will give my vote to WU, for the maturity of its program and the reputation of the university (ranked 9th this year) .

华盛顿大学(圣路易丝) - Washington U. in St. Louis.
It's in the state of Missouri (midwest), not in the state of Washington (west coast)

As far as I know, WU-St. Louis ranks higher than UMD. WU is private whereas UMD is public.
