Recently, USC Marshall Dean James Ellis hold a speech to our MBA program student. Information below will be helpful to applicant who are interested in USC to write why school.
From Dean James Ellis’ Speech:
Vision for Marshall (Three Primary Issues):
Globalization - Asia-centric: The East-coast business schools are primarily European-centric due to geography. Marshall has a strong presence in the Pacific Rim…instead of fighting an uphill battle in Europe, let’s focus on our strengths in Asia
Entrepreneurial & Innovative:In today’s difficult economic environment, the adaptable entrepreneur is able to take advantage of opportunities quickly. Thus, he wants to enable thought processes and fundamentals through Marshall’s curriculum and community that will let Marshall entrepreneurs thrive
Social entrepreneurship: Do well by doing good…affect positive societal change.
Marshall 5 Years From Now:
More classroom space, separate undergrads from grads
Maintain an intimate class size of 225 for MMBA, despite the lucrative revenue opportunity by adding another core or two
Continue to recruit the best faculty (the toughest part of academia)…in the economic downturn, now is actually a great time for Marshall to lure faculty from other schools
