the comet 和its return 来比较,没有the comet 本身在不同时期产生的影响来比较的好。

Lets bring Obama into the picture instead of Hally, the comet for a moment :-D

Rephrase
with C - In no other election did Obama cause such a sensation as (he
did) in his presidential race of 2008. (We can omit 'he did' and still
convey the same meaning)
Sensation caused by Obama in all the previous elections is compared with sensation caused by Obama in presidential race.)
In no other historical sighting did Halley's comet cause such a worldwide sensation as (it did) in its return of 1910-1911

In no other historical sighting 和in its return of 1910-1911,我们从逻辑上考虑,前者的施动者应该是“观察者”,是一种由人发出的动作,而后者in its return of 1910-1911中的施动者是哈雷彗星,且“在哈雷彗星的回归中...”

540        Nowhere in Prakta is the influence of modern European architecture more apparent than their government buildings.

(A) more apparent than their

(B) so apparent as their

(C) more apparent than in its

(D) so apparent than in theirC

(E) as apparent as it is in its

540, sec02-18

Choice A is incorrect because in must appear after than and because the plural pronoun their does not agree in number with the singular noun Prakta. B also lacks in and misuses their. Choice C is correct. In D, so…than in place of more…than is unidiomatic, and there is again wrong. Choice E is confusing because it refers to architecture whereas its refers to Prakta. This question is a little easier than the average.

Halley 's comet did cause(caused) such a worlwide sensation in no other historical sighting as in its return of 1910-1911.

同意选C...

such a worlwide sensation in no other historical sighting :在其他历史上目击物中,没有如此的举世轰动。

in its return of :在哈雷彗星的1910-1911的回归中...

很赞

同意 nowhere in Pakta与in its emment buidlings比较

然后in no other historical sighting和in its return of 1910-1911比较

vote for C

A.Halley’s comet也无法和its return对称

B. its return无法和Halley’s comet平行

In no other historical sighting did Halley’s comet cause such a worldwide sensation as Halley’s comet did in its return in 1910-1911.
