GWD29-24 比较中让人始终不能理解的地方，都来看看吧，肯定对大家很有用的！

C也肯定不能是对的。

理由如下：

rice has more protein than wheat does                  对的
rice has protein of higher quality than that in wheat  对的

看完了上边的两句，体会一下区别，接着看下边的

wild animals have less total fat than livestock dose 是对的
wild animals have less total fat than that(fat) of livestock 是错的
wild animals have fat of higher quality than that(fat) of/in livestock 是对的

wild animals have less total fat than livestock到底对不对 我不好说

wild animals have less total fat than that(fat) of livestock 是错的 是有原因的，它的句意肯定是不对的：

这句话还原了以后大概可以理解为： wild animals have less fat than the that(fat) of livestock has 即 野生动物比家畜的肥肉有更多的肥肉 比较对象不一致

我也不明白 我选的C 但看答案说是B

主要不明白的地方倒不是哪两个相比较 而是助动词是否补出的问题 像C ...and have more...中的have 是否应该省略 像B 如果是 wild animals VS livestock 那 livestock前是否应该有相应的do or has?可是 前面的wild animals是复数  livestock是单数 单复数不能比较不对称吧。。。

该选项两个主要考点，一个是比较less...than...，一个是并列have less sth and more sth，还原的话应该是这样：

wild animals have less total fat than (do) livestock fed on grain and (have) more (fat that is) of a kind of fat thought to be...

注意，该比较结构中比较对象是wild animals和livestock，而不是fat。如果要比较fat，句子结构应该是

wild animals have total fat that is less than that of livestock...(句子很awkward，大家明白我的意思就行)

或者：the fat of wild animals is less than that of livestock...

所以C不正确。

我认为楼主举的OG的例子跟本题不同:

rice has protein of higher quality than that in

翻译过来是: 大米含有一种蛋白质, 这种蛋白质的质量高于小麦所含的蛋白质;

而这题则是:

 have less total fat than livestock fed on grain

野生动物比人养的牲口含有更少的脂肪;

注意它比较级形容词的位置,

OG题中higher修饰的是quality,这个quality是protein的quality,而不是跟主语对等的wheat的quality. 比较的是wheat和rice中的protein.所以需要"that in";

而GWD题中, 比较的则是野生动物和饲养动物谁含有更多的脂肪(which one has more fat? wild or livestock), 翻译过来也就是wild animals have less total fat than livestock have. 所以, 根据平行结构中的省略规则, 我们可以得出B答案.

B.       wild animals have less total fat than livestock fed on grain and more of a kind of fat thought to be -》这里的比较A do B than C do D 肯定是比较好的用法，但是也不是说绝对不能A do B than C (省略do D);这个and如果直接跟more of XXX fat, 那么前面平行的部分很清楚，应该是less total fat。

也就是说可以认为是：wild animals have less X and more Y than livestock fed on grain

C.      wild animals have less total fat than that of livestock fed on grain and have more fat of a kind thought to be-》这里的that of livestock XXX 的that of 指代不清，但是也不是绝对说不对。我觉得这里的主要问题是more fat of a kind thought to be, 看上去非常awkward。同时这里have XX and have XX 中第二个have可以省略

D.      total fat of wild animals is less than livestock fed on grain and they have more fat of a kind thought to be

E.       total fat is less in wild animals than that of livestock fed on grain and more of their fat is of a kind they think is

好像应该是B，gwd的答案错了，这个也是PREP的题目。请大家讨论

prep选什么？我觉得ANIMAL和Livestock来比啊，当时那个B选项and 后面怎么动词没了？请NN解答

看了前辈的讨论，汗颜```gmat语法真的是字斟句酌呀

个人认为b中and 后面的more of a kind of fat thought to be 中，more后面接介词短语，说明more这里是个代词，也就是and之后的宾语是more，与less total fat（fat是宾语，less是形容词，是状语）不平行，因为平行要含义一致，形式对等
c中less total fat 与more fat都是fat做宾语，可以平行！
