Ａnother adaptation reducing the weight of birds is ... 问题：modified的同义词 答案：made different ； 我选的made better modified本身的意思就是改良，当然应该是made better，而且把made better放入原文也比made different合适，疑惑！ |

compromise在这里是危害的意思 答案的意思就是如果开 opening开孔的话, 会危急整个结构 就像文中说的那样 for fear the arches and vaults would collapse 担心拱形穹隆会断裂~
