based on的用法

该选项错误的原因是：In choice A, the introductory clause beginning Based on modifies scholars, the noun that immediately follows it: in other words, A says that scholars were based on the accounts of various ancient writers.

而我觉得这边的based on 是修饰paint这个动作的。

有一题大全题目（大全131）就是：

No state law forbids an employer from rejecting a job applicant or to dismiss an employee based on the results of a lie detector test.

这里的based on 就是修饰动作的吧？

实际上我们在平时用的时候就经常用“based on blablabla, somebody arrived at a conclusion ..."

楼主，这个分词用法里面讲到的。分词放在句首，其主语等于主句的主语，所以主句是scholars，接下来看就是scholars be Based on逻辑意思就不对啦。这个和修饰好像没有太多关系。

可以参见白勇语法第五章“粉刺短语逻辑主语的判断。”

对啊！我知道OG的意思，但是我觉得这个based on也可以理解为修饰paint这个动作，这样就变成学者们based on ..., 从而paint了...

你看131上面把顺序改一改那个就是 based on ..., the employer dismiss ...

scholars base on...=> Basing on..., scholars do blah blah
scholars were based on...=> Based on..., scholars did blah blah<=== illogical

放在句首做状语，逻辑主语等于句子主语。这里科学家是主动base on，不是被动。

可以放到后面，但是不可以放到前面吧。放到后面就免了这种歧异吧。

貌似我写作文的时候都是习惯放在后面。

还有，AlienX所说的应该用basing on 的话，那么131里面不就应该是forbid the employer to dismiss an employee basing on ...了？

大全131中的based on有點怪, 沒見過noun+(without comma) 過去分詞中的過去分詞可以修動詞...
有人可以解釋一下嗎?
