关于这道题的争论非常激烈，自己一开始做的时候也做错了，但在看了答案和前人的讨论后，个人认为这道题根本就不是在考not only...but also...这个结构，它纯粹是一个大幌子！其实就是一个很简单的句子结构，正如D选项所表达的。
not only...but also...中省略号的两个部分表达的应该是相同的意思，但是在这道题里，两个句子表达的却是相反的意思：
第一个句子说，毁林开荒能够创造更多的农场(因为有地了)并且提供了家和家具(被砍伐的树木可以用来盖房子做家具)，这些是有利的一面
第二个句子就在说有害的一面——但是(but)毁林开荒(it)也(also)会加速地表腐蚀和森林消失。
所以个人认为D选项的but it also只表达了一种“带有转折的也”，而不是not only...but also...中的第二部分
