可是, 为什么A中的as well as后面可以跟emitting而不是emit呢?

这个前面有人说过了，xxx do sth, as well as doing sth是固定结构

agree

less modify the "gas" itself,

fewer modify the "gases", plural when refer to different kinds of gas
