为什么A不对？ with具有跳跃修饰的作用，选项C中intended to和 deposits 不是谓语重复吗？

选项C中intended to和 deposits 不是谓语重复，因为只有deposits作谓语，而intended是修饰fund的，不是谓语

关于A选项，个人认为its的指代有点不清楚的嫌疑，同时用动词更有利于表现sustain和exhaust两个动作之间的前后因果关系（记得OG有这么一项类似的解释）

我感觉首先是its的指代问题，改用被动语态反而避免了这个问题。
其次，如果用动词intend to表示更清楚明白的话，用名词with the intention to反而笨拙了。ETS多次在OG中提到这个问题。
intend 做动词用法如下：
intend  vt.
1. 想要;打算[+to-v][+v-ing][+(that)][O2]
2. 打算使...(成为);(为...而)准备+for/as

intention固定搭配
intention+of/to
