不知道这样的背景 能否有一点竞争力 争取面试机会 本人是菜鸟 个人对金融 尤其是IB VC PE很感兴趣 平时也有观察 积累知识 进IB一直是大学以来的内心深藏的愿望 现在的工作虽然安逸且有发展前途 但对工作性质 岗位 感觉不是自己喜欢的 一直也在摸索自己发展方向 前途....内心一直是骚动的 却一直摸不清方向 曾想过考CFA 也得知即便过了三级 还不如一个金融硕士实在 搜索金融MBA 得知了HKUST 然后得知了CD 感觉现在找到了努力奋斗的方向 打算通过MBA一途实现自己跳跃瓶颈的 (GMAT 还没考 正在收集信息 准备中 ) 盼不吝赐教 I'm from 09 intake, actually CFA is a rather narrow credential, plsease refers to profiles of those professionals already in PE/VC, I'd like to say, a UST MBA+CFA may not be able to help you to realize your dream. Your salary isn't bad. President Hu said:"不折腾" you'de better get a deeper understanding of the so-called investment industry to make your decision later then. One of my friends with CFA/FRM/Master/fluent English/German/Japanese, newly received an offer as industry analyst from one leading domestic brokerage, he earned even less than you, and he's nearly 30 now. This is highly volatile industry, and you may be much more risk-averse than you originally thought when you really experience recession. For 09 intake, one of my undergrad classmates and me, which is the relatively weaker new entrants in '09, we both graduated from SHUFE(not sure if you know) in the same year with you. Regarding T/G, he got 750/117, and mine 710/106. Fund management prefer BSc/MSF combination from top-tier domestic universities. As there are so little IB surviving now, with Chinese graduates from US top b-schools, with so many people have previous i-bank experiences, I think your opportunity to land a job in int'l i-bank in HK is really rare, no offence. Given your operations function and little int'l exposure, which function of IB you want to switch to, which kind of IB you want work for? Frankly speaking, every sell-side sales I met in HK has CFA after their names on their company cards, meaningless. I personally encourage you to dream, as you're a young man who share the dream I had once dreamed too. But if you want choose IB, better change your function first, and leave for a big name commercial bank, try to apply for better programs. I'm not saying you won't get any IBD opportunity in UST MBA program. I just want to say, your pre-MBA program and a UST mba isn't sufficient to send you there. Good luck and Keep fighting!!!
