WE ARE HBS CLASS OF 2010 CDERS!

Excuse me, I wonder since HBS is looking at the working background so much, and my current working experience is not matching the target field, I am looking forward to adjust my future career after MBA program in HBS, am I appeal realistic to HBS?  logically speaking, I have assumption that my application will not appeal to be as attractive and as potential to the direct recruiter from a professional in my target field, therefore how would HBS evaluate it?

My GMAT is 720, TOEFL is 110, GPA is 3.2 and  I have 7 years working experience. Now I'm a branch manager in a fortune 500 Human resource recruitment service company, and I was a marketing manager in Media industry before for 3 years. I want to adjust myself to management consultancy after the MBA program.

I do understand that I should not demand your full evaluation under your pre-notice, however, My point is weather I'm above the bottom line and I should try or simply let go ... after all, I do not want to waste time targeting unrealistic direction.

Hi there, this is tiger777, one of the admits to HBS 2010. I am not using the HBS_2010 account since following is just my personal opinion. I believe, for people in our age bracket (I have graduated from college for 8 years), the conventional wisdom is to emphasize our expertise in our current field and to plan our future career in the same industry. By doing so, you actually define your own "uniqueness".

Thank you!  We're all happy to help.

You will definitely find lots of smart over-achievers who have done amazing things in their lives.  Overall, I appreciate the humility of most students and have made great friends.  I won't worry too much about it.  Out of the ~1800 students, I am sure that you will find plenty of people with whom you will enjoy spending more time with.

我在CD上看见有人说HBS录取要求是6分,  心都凉了。

我会尽量在essay 和recommendation letters上弥补，但不知道会有大帮助。

最近心很凉的说，因为被HBS-MBA 2013拒了。拒了也没什么，因为还有机会，不怕。只是自己不知道怎么败的，败在哪里：是career goal 不对胃口，还是GMAT不高， or whatever。想恳请哪位好心的HBS人能私下SMS我一下，过目一下偶得背景和ESSAY，给点意见和建议，帮助我下次申请成功。

谢谢您的回复。我申请的是2+2。我有以下几个不明白的地方：

（1）      申请2+2的信心不仅仅源于我自己，更源于一些MBA咨询师和我之前实习单位的SUPERVISOR的意见：
                他们中的一些人认为我至少有80%以上的成功概率。但最终却失败了。如果没有他们的肯定，我这会儿反倒没那么PUZZLE，现在我不明白失误在哪里，也对日后怎么申请HBS产生了疑惑。

（2）      申请完了才发现2+2更PREFER非商科的CANDIDATES，而我在CAREER GOAL里把自己定位为未来中国一位具备国际化操作水准，鼓励年轻人实现创业理想，推动社会发展VENTURE CAPITALIST，是否并不合适？

总之申请是抱着尝试一下，不浪费任何一次机会的心态下完成的。但我特别想通过这次失败来找出自己的不足，从而明确未来努力的方向去弥补这些不足，为日后申请HBS奠定一个更扎实的基础。谢谢。
