这是OG11-39题 答案a  我这样理解的， spawned 与extending 平行对称，一个被动一个主动所以一个done一个doing

但是答案的解释让我很困惑：

A     Correct. This sentence has the participles spawned and extending in a correct parallel construction. Spawned refers to something that happened in the past, while extending refers to something that continues into the present.

这个说spawn是因为发生在过去，用spawned

extend指的是事情发生并延伸到present 所以用extending

难道分词还与时态相关？ 哪位仁兄帮忙看看，有任何想法都帮忙顶下啊 谢谢了

我的理解也跟你一样诶。。。

可能解释并没有否定你的理解， 但只是为了强调说 v+ing 是有正在进行的意思的，所以没有用which was spawned 和which extends来对应。。。。

我开始也觉得这个题没有疑问 今天一战友过来问我解释里面说起分词与动作发生时间了，然后就搞不清怎么解释了。期待nn出现

過去分詞跟現在分詞的最大區別是過去分詞跟是代表被動.
現在分詞代表主動.
如果句子變成:
An interwoven filigree of mushrooms and rootlike tentacles was spawned by a single fertilized spore some 10,000 years ago and extended for more than 30 acres in the soil of Michigan forest.
可能會比較清楚=)

如果按照OG的解释，这个句子的结构去掉部分修饰语后，应该可以精简为:

Scientists have discovered the oldest living organism,a giant fungus spawned by a single fertilized and extending for more than 20 acres.

但是这个精简后的句子我怎么读都觉得拗口...

就是这样的啊。。。

一个过去分词，一个现在分词，修饰的同一个东西a giant fungus。只是修饰关系不同所以形式不一样。就像楼上有人说的，过去分词表示被动或者状态，已经完成的动作；现在分词表示主动啊，有时是进行，反正不是被动。

解释下：因为写成一句话时a giant fungus is spawned by  a single fertilized spore some 10,000 years ago ，所以用分词就是去掉is；

另一个写成a giant fungus extends 。。。也行了我觉得，没什么进行的必要。要用分词表示修饰时那就用现在分词了。

以前学过的，自己理解的，可能有偏颇。
